Sri Adi Sankaracharya has grouped the worship of gods into six groups known as shanmatha siddhanta

1 ) Saivam ( lord shiva in linga or moorthy posture )

2 ) Vaishanavam ( lord vishnu & other avataras )

3 ) Saktham ( worship of shakti / kali )

4 ) Ganapathyam ( worship of lord ganapathy )

5 ) Koumaram ( lord karthikeya )

6 ) Souram ( worship of sun god )

Placing in horoscope which help you know your kuldevta / family deity The lagna 5^th place and 9^th houses of horoscope can help find out your family deity . The 9^th place denotes your father , 5^th place your grandfather and the lagna denotes the native and his / her luck great grandfather .
