Prayers For Rain
Here is a collection of how different faiths and regions around the world have prayed for rain for centuries. Each one sees rain as more than water — as mercy, blessing, and life itself.
1. Hindu Dharma – India
Prayers to Varuna, Indra, and Parjanya – guardians of water and rain.
Mantra:
Om Parjanyaya Namaha / Om Varunaya Namaha
Vrishti Me Dehi Varuna
From Rig Veda – Parjanya Sukta (5.83):
Abhi krandaya stanaya garbham aa dhaa, udanvata pari diya rathena
Roar, thunder, deposit your embryo of water, fly around with your water-laden chariot.
Villages still perform Varuna Japam, Jal Abhishek on Shivlinga, and Yagnas for rain.
Vedic and spiritual tradition has very specific prayers for rain – called Varsha Prarthana or Parjanya Prarthana. These are addressed to Varuna Deva, Parjanya Deva, and Indra Deva.
Here are the most authentic and widely used ones:
Parjanya Sukta – Rig Veda 5.83 : This is considered the main Vedic Sukta for rain. Rishis chanted it to invoke rain-bearing clouds.
Stuti: Parjanyaya pra gāyata divas putrāya mīḷhuṣe Sa no yavaśadam īrayatu
Meaning: Sing praises to Parjanya, the son of Heaven, the bountiful one. May he bring nourishing rain for our crops.
For daily japa during drought or before monsoon, chant the first 3 mantras of this Sukta 108 times in the morning facing west.
Varuna Mantra for Rain Varuna is the Lord of waters and cosmic order. This is the core Vedic mantra:
Om Varunam Nama Samudram Vanam cha Apam Patim Varunam Avahaye Varuno VarunobhavatuSimpler beej mantra for daily chanting: Om Vam Varunaya Namah .Chant 108 times with a little water in a copper lota in front of you. After japa, offer that water to a Tulsi or Peepal tree.
Varuna Gayatri – very powerful for Varsha:
Om Jalbimbaya Vidmahe Nilapurushaya Dhimahi Tanno Varunah Prachodayat
Megha Sukta / Meghakarjari Mantra Om Sham No Devi Abhishtaye Apo Bhavantu Pitaye Shamyorabhi Sravantu Nah
From Rig Veda 10.9, this is Apah Sukta – prayer to divine waters. It is chanted to purify and to call blessed waters.
Om Meghaya Namah | Om Jivantaya NamahOm Varshakaya Namah | Om Parjanyaya Namah
Chant these 4 names 108 times.
Indra Mantra for Rain Indra is the holder of Vajra who breaks the clouds.
Om Vrisha-karmane Indraya Namah Indram Varsham Janayantu
And the famous Indra Stuti from Rig Veda: Varshantu Te Vibhavari Divam Shardhi**
Meaning: O Indra, let the heavens shower abundantly upon us.
Simple Puranic Prayers you can do at home
Varuna Puja Sankalpa for Rain :
On any Monday or Saturday, keep a kalash filled with water, with mango leaves.
Light incense and say: “He Varuna Deva, He Jala Narayana, Anavrishti-dosha shantyartham, Su-vrishti pradaanaartham, aham prarthanaam karomi”
Then chant Om Varunaya Namah 108 times and pray for balanced, timely rain – not too little, not destructive.
Sant Dnyaneshwar’s Marathi Prarthana – widely sung in Maharashtra for rain:**
Pasayadan – “Sakalanchya mani vasana, varshat sakal mangali, eshwar nishthanchi mandiyali, anavarata bhumandali”
Bhagavat Purana Prayer: “Kale Varshatu Parjanyah, Prithivi Sasya Shalini”
Meaning: May clouds rain on time, may earth be filled with crops. This is chanted in temples during Varuna Yagya.
Astrological Remedies for Anavrishti In Jyotisha, lack of rain is seen as affliction of Jala Tattva – Moon, Venus, Varuna.
- Chandra Shanti: If Moon is weak, offer water to Shivlinga with chanting “Om Somaya Namah” 108 times on Monday.
- Varuna Yagya: Traditional solution in villages – collective chanting of Varuna Sukta by 4-7 Brahmins for 3 days, with Samudra snan and Varuna Bali.
- Cow feeding: Feed jaggery and green grass to cows, as cow is connected to Parjanya.
- Pipal tree watering: Water Peepal tree for 21 days without break, praying for Megha.
How to do it correctly
- Intention is important: Pray not just “let it rain” but “let there be timely, nourishing, non-destructive rain for all beings” – Samasta Jeeva Sukhaya.
- Best time: Brahma Muhurta (4:30-5:30 AM) or evening Sandhya when clouds gather.
- Cleanliness: Face west, the direction of Varuna. Light ghee lamp.
- Collective chanting has more power than individual in Vedic tradition for rain – so if possible, do it with family or community.
2. Buddhism – India, Tibet, Southeast Asia
Not a prayer to a rain-god, but a prayer for balance of nature.
May the Naga kings who hold the waters be pleased.
May timely rain fall, may crops grow, may all beings be free from famine.
Om Vajra Nagas, Varsha Siddhi Hum
In Thailand and Myanmar, monks chant the Vassavalāhaka Sutta for gentle rains.
3. Jainism
Khamemi Savve Jiva, may all beings be happy. If our actions have disturbed the elements, we ask forgiveness. May the clouds pour in balance, may life be sustained.
4. Sikhism – Punjab
Included in Ardas:
Sarbat da bhala. Akaal Purakh, mehar karo, lod anusaar meeh bakhsho.
O Eternal One, have mercy, grant us rain as needed, for the welfare of all.
5. Islam – Worldwide
Salat al-Istisqa – The Prayer for Rain prayed by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Done in open fields.
Allahumma asqina ghaythan mughithan, mari’an mari’a, nafi’an ghaira darrin, ‘ajilan ghaira ajilin.
O Allah, give us rain that rescues us, pleasant, wholesome, beneficial not harmful, quickly not delayed.
Also: Allahumma aghithna – O Allah, shower us.
6. Christianity
Catholic / Orthodox:
O God, who makest the clouds to rise and the rain to descend, grant us abundant rains for our necessities and preserve the fruits of the earth.
Protestant – Book of Common Prayer:
O gracious Father, who openest Thy hand and fillest all things living with plenteousness; Send us rain in due season.
In many parts of Africa and Latin America, processions with the cross are taken to fields.
7. Judaism – Israel / Worldwide
From the Amidah prayer, added from Sukkot to Passover:
Mashiv ha-ruach u-morid ha-gashem
You cause the wind to blow and the rain to fall.
Veten tal u-matar livracha
Grant dew and rain for a blessing upon the face of the earth.
8. Zoroastrianism – Persia / India (Parsi)
Prayer to Tishtrya, the star deity of rain:
We honor Tishtrya, the bright and glorious star, who brings the waters from the sea to parched lands. May waters flow, may plants grow.
9. Shinto – Japan
Prayer to Ryu-jin, the dragon kami of rain:
Ryu-jin-sama, kami of sea and cloud, we humbly ask you to let the blessed rain fall upon our rice fields. Kome no megumi wo.
Farmers offer rice and sake at shrines during Amagoi rituals.
10. Taoism / Chinese Folk Religion
Prayer to the Dragon Kings:
Long Wang, Lord of Rain, hear our voices. Open the heavens, let the gentle rain nourish the ten thousand things.
11. Native American
Hopi and Zuni (Southwest US) – Rain Dance Prayer:
Our Father Sky, our Mother Earth, hear the footsteps of our dance. Let the clouds come from the four directions, let the corn grow tall.
Lakota:
Wakan Tanka, Grandfather, you who make the thunder, send your waters to us.
12. African Traditional Religions
Yoruba (Nigeria) – to Oshun and Oya:
Oya, mother of winds, bring the clouds. Oshun, mother of sweet waters, let the earth drink.
Maasai (Kenya/Tanzania):
Enkai Narok, God who is Black like the rain clouds, bring your black clouds over us.
13. Australian Aboriginal
No fixed text, but a prayer to the Rainbow Serpent: Great Rainbow Serpent, you who sleep in the waterholes, wake and travel through the sky, bringing the rain song to the land.
14. Indigenous South America – Andes
Prayer to Pachamama and Illapa (thunder god): Pachamama, Illapa, we give you chicha and coca. Send us your rain, that our potatoes and quinoa may live.
A universal way to pray if you want to include all:
Whatever name You are called – Varuna, Allah, God, Waheguru, Enkai, Ryu-jin – You know the thirst of this land. Let the heavens open not in anger but in mercy. Give us rain enough to drink, to grow, and to share.

National School of Drama, New Delhi Vastu Study
This is a full-spectrum reading of National School of Drama, New Delhi — Bahawalpur House, 1 Bhagwandas Road, Mandi House, New Delhi 110001. Founded in 1959 by Sangeet Natak Akademi, site area ~5.5 acres, in the cultural hub of Delhi.
I am treating the main campus at Mandi House as the reference. These are traditional interpretive systems, not engineering sciences — read as cultural lens.
1. Vastu Shastra
Orientation & Mandala:
Mandi House sits on flat, slightly elevated Lutyens Delhi grid, which Vastu would classify as Samabhoomi — stable. The main Bahawalpur House is roughly North-South oriented with primary face toward Bhagwan Das Road (approx North-East entrance). NE = Ishaan Kona, ideal for entrance, knowledge and arts — very auspicious for a drama school.
Pancha Maha Bhuta Balance:
- Earth: Heavy colonial masonry = strong Prithvi, good for stability of institution that has lasted since 1959.
- Water: No natural water body in NE, but proximity to Central Park, India Gate lawns acts as open Brahma breathing space.
- Fire: Stages and lighting in South-East (Agneya) would be ideal. Current theatres Abhimanch, Sammukh are placed toward interior South — needs Agni correction if not.
- Air & Space: Large open lawns, banyan trees maintain Akash element, essential for voice projection.
Vastu Dosh noted: Mandi House circle traffic creates constant Vedha (piercing) from multiple roads. Remedy traditionally suggested: heavy plantation barrier, torana at main gate, keeping center (Brahmasthan) open — which NSD does with its central open-air spaces.
2. Feng Shui – Form School & Compass
Ming Tang: The forecourt facing Mandi House metro creates a natural Bright Hall where Chi gathers before entering. Metro 120m north acts as moving water — flow of people = water Chi, excellent for performing arts.
Facing Direction: Approximate facing ~25-30° NE. In Period 8 (2004-2024) and now Period 9 (2024-2043), NE facing is Gen trigram — mountain, stillness, study. Perfect for a training institution, less for commercial theatre. It explains why NSD produces masters but not box-office.
Sha Chi: The heavy traffic roundabout at Mandi House generates sharp Chi. Traditional cure: round foyer, curved walls, wind chimes. NSD’s colonial bungalow with verandas naturally slows Chi.
3. Western Geomancy & Geobiology
If we dowsed the grid, Mandi House is on the old Raisina ridge alluvium. Geomancy would look for:
- Ley lines: Alignment with Rajpath — NSD is ~1.2km from President House axis. That central Delhi axis is considered a power line in Delhi geomancy.
- Hartmann & Curry grids: Old masonry, low steel, high ceilings reduce geopathic stress. Modern black-box theatres with heavy electronics and underground cabling may create local stress — old practitioners would place copper rods / grounding mats under stage.
Recommendation from geomancy: keep rehearsal in old Bahawalpur structure, keep technical heavy equipment in newer blocks.
4. Geodesy – The Scientific Layer
Geodetic data: 28°37’23″N 77°14’04″E approx. Elevation ~216m. On the edge of Aravalli quartzite and Yamuna floodplain — stable craton, low seismic Zone II.
Good geodesy means:
- True North vs Magnetic North variance ~0.5° E here — Vastu east and Sthapatya east are almost identical, so orientation errors are minimal.
- Long daylight for Delhi (14h summer) — north light in studios is consistent, ideal for set design, as old British architects intended.
5. Tiang Seri / Malay Feng Shui
Tiang Seri is the Malay animist-Islamic building science centered on Semangat (spirit) of place and sacred trees.
NSD campus has old Neem, Peepal, Banyan — Tiang Seri would read these as guardian penunggu. The central banyan is Pohon Seri — the school’s spirit anchor. In this tradition, you never cut the oldest tree, you make your stage face it to get restu (blessing). The open-air performance under trees at NSD Bharat Rang Mahotsav is exactly that ritual.
Water element is represented by small lotus ponds / fountains — if missing, Tiang Seri would recommend a water jar at SE to invite Seri of abundance.
6. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda
This is Vedic architecture revived by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi — stricter than Vastu.
- East Facing: Ideal. Brahmasthan (central silence) must be empty. NSD’s central lawn respects this.
- Brahmasthan: No heavy building at exact center — good.
- Vastu Purusha: Head in NE, so library, scriptures, Saraswati shrine should be NE. Classrooms in East, theatre in West for manifestation.
- Measurement: Uses Angula system based on occupants. Since NSD is not built per Sthapatya, Maharishi consultants would say retrofit with Kalash on roof, gold-plated Brahmasthan point, and maintain perfect east orientation for meditation hall.
For actors, Sthapatya says east entrance acting makes performance more Sattvic and connected to natural law.
7. Bau-Biologie (Building Biology – German)
Bau-biologie criteria (IBN – 25 principles):
- Site: Mandi House has high air pollution (PM2.5) and high traffic noise >70dB — negative for voice training. Needs indoor air filtration, acoustic insulation.
- Materials: Original lime plaster, brick, wood = diffusion-open, excellent. Newer concrete, synthetic paints, stage curtains with flame retardants = off-gassing concern.
- EMF: Metro line 120m away, overhead cables, stage lighting dimmers produce high electrosmog. Recommendation: shielded rehearsal rooms, switch off WiFi at night, natural sleeping materials in hostels.
- Light & Air: High ceilings, large windows = excellent daylight factor. Ideal for Bau-biologie.
Verdict: Old Bahawalpur House is textbook Bau-biologie positive; modern auditorium annexes need biological retrofitting.
8. Astrology
Institutional Horoscope: Founded 1959. Sangeet Natak Akademi took decision in 1959, NSD became independent in 1975. If we take April 1959 (start of academic year) New Delhi:
- Aries Sun season — Mesha — leadership, first institution of its kind in India — fits.
- Saturn in Sagittarius in 1959 — Dharma of teaching drama.
- Delhi’s own chart has strong Mercury (communication) in 3rd house of arts — Mandi House is Delhi’s 3rd house equivalent.
Transit for students: Traditionally, drama is ruled by Mercury + Venus + Moon. NSD in central Delhi benefits from Budhaditya Yoga of Lutyens zone — intellectual performance.
9. Numerology
Name: NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA
Chaldean:
NATIONAL (18) + SCHOOL (22) + OF (6) + DRAMA (12) = 58 -> 5+8=13 -> 4
Pythagorean / English: NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA = 9 (completion, universal art)
Address: 1, Bhagwan Das Road — Number 1 = Sun — leadership, fame — fits national institution.
Year: 1959 = 1+9+5+9=24=6 — Venus — arts, theatre, beauty. 1975 independence = 22 = master builder number.
Compatibility: 4 (Rahu — unconventional, drama, illusion) is actually perfect for theatre which is Maya. Combined with 9 (Mars — energy, stage) — 4+9 is a classic theatre combination.
Synthesis:
Every system says almost the same thing differently:
Mandi House is a knowledge node — NE entrance, Gen mountain energy, stable geodesy, old trees as guardians, lime masonry breathing building. Its weakness across systems is same: too much urban Sha / traffic cutting, polluted air, and modern electronic stress in the performance spaces.
Traditional remedies across all would converge:
- Keep Brahmasthan open and green
- Strengthen NE with water/ Saraswati
- Use trees as buffer on the Mandi House circle
- Retain old breathable materials for acting studios

Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park (RGIP) Hinjewadi IT Park, Pune Vastu Case Study
Ground facts: The park is ~2,800-3,000 acres on the north-west edge of Pune, off the NH4 / Mumbai-Bengaluru bypass, divided into Phase 1, 2, 3. Elevation ~580m above mean sea level, nested near Mahalunge hills and on the left bank of the Mula River. Phase 1 is lower, flatter; Phase 2 and 3 rise gently toward the hills. Blue Ridge township description notes the area is “situated on the bank of Mula River having mountain view”.
1. Vastu Shastra
Core logic: orientation, slope, water, weight.
- Direction: Hinjewadi as a whole is Vayavya (North-West) of Pune city centre. In Vastu, NW is governed by Vayu, good for movement, IT, logistics, air element – fitting for an IT hub.
- Slope (Bhumi-pariksha): Land slopes from Mahalunge hills (West/South-West) down toward Mula River (North-East/East). Vastu ideal is slope towards North-East (Ishanya). Here the natural fall is indeed towards North-East to East – considered auspicious for flow of wealth.
- Water: Mula River to the North-East is a strong plus – water in NE is most auspicious. Risk: original nullahs/streams joining Mula were diverted/blocked for construction – in Vastu this is dosha, blocking natural flow = stagnation, flooding issues which Hinjewadi actually sees in monsoon.
- Weight: Heavy structures ideal in South-West. The hills in SW naturally give that weight. Phase 3 sitting higher in SW is therefore more stable as per Vastu than Phase 1 in the low-lying NE.
Remediation often suggested: keep NE zones open, avoid heavy construction in NE of each campus, ensure North and East have more open space and water retention.
2. Feng Shui (Form School)
- Ming Tang & Dragons: Mahalunge hills behind = Black Tortoise / support, Mula River in front = bright hall gathering Qi. Ideal form is “Mountain behind, water in front” – Hinjewadi approximates it, but the mountain is relatively low, not a full dragon chain.
- Facing: Most SEZ blocks face East or North toward the river/road for highway Qi. East-facing is Wood element, good for growth/tech. North-facing (as many rental listings call out “vaastu-compliant…north-facing”) is Water element, good for career.
- Sha: The 6-lane highway and flyover cut creates fast-moving Sha Qi – mitigated in Feng Shui with buffering green belts, which Phase 1 does have with its 138-acre integrated townships and golf course.
3. Western Geomancy & Geodesy
- Geomancy: A place on a plateau between basalt hills and a river bend is typically read as a natural energy node. The three-phase linear spread along the river is seen as a “serpentine” ley – good for communication, not for containment.
- Geodesy: Lat ~18.59 N, Long ~73.73 E. Falls in Deccan Traps basalt. Geomagnetic: basalt is high in iron, magnetic anomalies are common. Geodesically, it’s just outside Pune’s main fault lines, but lies in Seismic Zone III (moderate). Geodetic orientation: long axis NW-SE follows the river, which aligns roughly with regional watershed lines.
4. Tiang Seri (Malay Site Selection)
Tiang Seri looks for: rising ground behind (Bukit), clear water in front (air jernih), no “tusuk” (poison arrow) from straight roads.
- Hinjewadi passes the Bukit test (hills SW), passes water test (Mula to NE), but fails on Tusuk – the straight Hinjewadi-Maan road acts like a spear into Phase 1. Traditional remedy: screen with Seri trees (Mimusops elengi) or curved entry gates.
5. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda
Very strict: whole site should be square/rectangular facing true East with Brahmasthan (center) open.
- Rajiv Gandhi Park is irregular, not cardinal-aligned, and developed in 3 strips, not one Mandala. Therefore from this view it would be considered not fully Sthapatya-aligned. The correction would be to treat each building’s own Brahmasthan as open atrium and ensure main entrance faces East.
6. Bau-Biologie (Building Biology)
- Positives: 580m elevation = better ventilation than low Pune, open space 60%+ in townships.
- Negatives: This school would flag: 1) Blocking of 4 natural nullahs disrupts groundwater and increases electrosmog/radon stagnation, 2) High-voltage IT infrastructure, dense towers, traffic on NH4 = high EMF load, 3) Mula basin floodplain = geopathic stress zone, dampness.
7. Astrology (Sthana – Mundane)
Pune foundation: If we take MIDC notification 1998 for the park, Lagna roughly would fall in industrialization cycle. Western mundane: site in NW of city = Aquarius zone (technology, networks) – fitting.
Vedic: Pune area falls under Meena? Different panchangas vary. More practically, astrologers in Pune often say Hinjewadi is under Shani (West) and Rahu (technology, foreign) influence – good for IT, but prone to sudden disruption (traffic, waterlogging). Again, this is belief-based.
8. Numerology
- Name: “Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park” =
R(9)+A(1)+J(1)+I(9)+V(4) =24 -> 6, Gandhi (3), Infotech (6), Park (7). Combined total often reduced to 5 (Mercury) – commerce, communication, technology. In Chaldean, 5 is considered highly suitable for IT/media. - Hinjewadi: 8 in many systems (Saturn) – hard work, delay, but long-term structure. 5 + 8 combination is described as “fast growth with infrastructural lag” – which matches the lived experience of the area.
Synthesis:
Almost all systems agree on one thing: the macro location is naturally good – higher ground behind, river in front, NE slope and open. The problems all systems point to are man-made: cutting natural streams, over-densification in low NE zones, and straight high-speed roads channeling too much flow without buffers.
If you are looking at an office or plot there, traditional consultants would usually recommend:
- Choose Phase 2/3 upper ground if you want SW weight/stability
- Keep North-East of your unit open/light, place water/entrance there
- Use heavy green buffer on highway side
- Ensure proper drainage – the most practical “remedy” that satisfies both Vastu and Bau-Biologie.

ITPL Tech Park Bangalore / ITPB / International Tech Park Bangalore – Whitefield A Vastu View
Location: ITPL Main Rd, Pattandur Agrahara, Whitefield, Bengaluru – 12.98584 N, 77.735508 E
Size / Layout: 69 acres, 10 blocks – Discoverer, Innovator, Creator, Explorer, Inventor, Navigator, Voyager, Aviator, Pioneer, Victor. Designed by Singapore firm RSP Architects, JV India-Singapore Jan 1994, managed by Ascendas / CapitaLand.
This is a symbolic reading across systems. None of these systems were used to design it officially, but we can read it through their lenses.
1. Vastu Shastra
Vastu looks for Ayadi, orientation, slope, Pancha-bhuta.
Positives for ITPL:
- Orientation: Main campus is broadly aligned to cardinal directions with primary approach from ITPL Main Road on East / Northeast side. East and Northeast entry is considered highly auspicious for knowledge and business –
Ishanyaopening. - Slope: Whitefield area slopes gently towards East/Northeast towards Varthur lake chain, which Vastu prefers – water flow to NE.
- Shape: The overall plot is close to rectangular / square, avoiding major vidisha (irregular cut) which is good for commercial stability.
- Brahmasthan: The central open spaces, Park Square Mall, food courts act as open Brahmasthan, allowing energy circulation – good for large commercial complex.
Challenges:
- Multi-building parks always create inter-building Vedha dosha – one block’s corner hitting another’s entrance. The 10 blocks create mutual shadow/pressure.
- Western side has heavier development (EPIP industrial) – Vastu prefers heavy in South-West, so that part is balanced. Water bodies are on South-East side (Varthur) not ideal per classical Vastu, but modern Vastu allows if treated as natural lake.
- Remedy lens: Classic remedies would suggest keeping Northeast light, open, water features in NE of each building lobby, and heavy server rooms / transformers in SE or SW.
2. Feng Shui – Form & Compass School
- Form School: ITPL sits in a classic “Armchair” – back protected by higher Whitefield settlement to West, open Ming Tang (bright hall) to East where the main road opens. Surrounded by supportive low hills, not sharp Sha arrows.
- Water: Feng Shui values water in front. The Varthur and Whitefield lakes to East/Southeast act as wealth water, though a bit distant. The internal fountains in Park Square are correctly placed to activate wealth.
- Compass / Flying Stars: Built from 1994 onwards, it is a Period 7 building transitioning to Period 8. Period 7’s facing direction is West, which aligns with many IT export businesses facing West (US clients) – symbolically good for that era. Most blocks are glass facades facing North-South which reduces harsh West sun Sha Chi.
- Chi flow: Grid road system allows chi to meander, not rush straight. Main straight ITPL road is a fast chi artery, which is why landscaped speed breakers and trees are important.
3. Western Geomancy & Geodesy
- Geodesy: At 12.98N, this is near the 13th parallel North, traditionally considered a high solar reception zone. Geodetic reading: high telluric conductivity due to granite Deccan plateau + quartz. Good for sustained mental work, but needs grounding.
- Geomancy (Ley / Hartmann): Whitefield is on ancient trade route from Bangalore to Chennai. Old paths = ley lines. Intersection of two old village tracks at Pattandur Agrahara creates a natural energy node. The 69-acre park amplifies it by concentrating human intention. No major geopathic stress reported, but the crossing of two large underground drainage lines for Varthur lake can be read as geopathic disturbance in Explorer/Navigator area.
4. Tiang Seri / Malay Archipelago Animism
Tiang Seri is the spirit of the tree, especially Penaga and large rain trees.
- ITPL Whitefield was originally eucalyptus plantation + agricultural land. Clearing of old large trees requires Semangat / spirit permission. The park preserved many large rain trees along the periphery – in Tiang Seri belief, that keeps Penunggu (guardian) calm.
- Water near Seri must not be stagnant. The preservation of the Varthur lake chain downstream is critical – stagnant water there would disturb the site. Fountains inside keep Seri active and happy.
5. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda
Very strict Vedic architecture.
- Brahmasthan: Each building should have a silent, empty center. ITPL blocks have central atriums / lobbies – this aligns partially.
- Orientation: Ideal is exact East with 0.5-1 degree North of East to align with Earth’s magnetic field and Sun’s movement. RSP Singapore design is closer to true North than magnetic East deviation, so about 90% compliant.
- Proportion: Sthapatya Veda demands precise ayadi formulas (length x width x height = cosmic resonance). Modern glass curtain walls and non-natural materials (steel, synthetic sealants) are considered less sattvic. The use of natural stone in lobby floors helps.
- Function: Work requiring pure creativity (Creator, Innovator) ideally in East-facing buildings, administration in South. The naming actually matches principle accidentally.
6. Bau-Biologie (Building Biology – German)
This is science-based health building.
- Materials: 1990s construction = RCC, aluminum composite, extensive glass. Not ideal for Bau-Biologie (prefers natural, breathable, low VOC). Later retrofits with low-VOC paints improved.
- Electrobiology: As India’s densest IT park, very high EMF load – cell towers, WiFi, server farms, 11kV lines. Classic Bau-Biologie stress. Mitigated by large open-to-sky ratio and tree cover, which helps ion balance.
- Light & Air: Excellent daylight factor for most blocks due to shallow floor plate, cross ventilation in atrium. Daylight autonomy > Vastu compliance.
- Geology: Deccan granite low radon, good. Grounding needed for static electricity in dry Bangalore climate.
7. Astrology – Mundane
- Foundation: January 1994 joint venture. Capricorn (Makara) – Saturn ruled. Capricorn = large government structures, long-term industry, technology through discipline. Perfect for an SEZ that becomes oldest tech park.
- Whitefield Lagna: Bangalore itself is Taurus-rising in many mundane charts. ITPL in East Bangalore falls in 3rd house of communication, IT, short travel.
- Transit: Currently Saturn transit over Aquarius puts ITPL in 11th house of gains from original chart – period of expansion/rebranding (now International Tech Park Bangalore under CapitaLand).
8. Numerology
- ITPL = 9+2+7+3 = 21 = 3 (I=9, T=2, P=7, L=3 in Chaldean). 3 = Jupiter – expansion, knowledge, global business. Very good for IT education park.
- International Tech Park Bangalore = 8 in Pythagorean – Saturn – structure, long-term endurance. Hence “oldest tech park” – it lasts.
- Address number: ITPL Main Road – vibrates to 6 (Venus) for hospitality (Taj Vivanta, Mall) balancing 8’s hardness.
- 10 buildings: 10 = 1 – leadership, sun. Indicates dominance as pioneer park.
Synthesis:
If you read ITPL through all these lenses together, the consensus is unusually positive for a modern tech park:
- It has East/Northeast openness + rectangular form = Vastu + Sthapatya + Feng Shui agree.
- Central open spaces preserve Brahmasthan / Ming Tang / Seri presence.
- Weak points are common to all systems: high artificial EMF / low natural material (Bau-Biologie), and water not in ideal Northeast (Vastu).
For a company choosing a block inside: For Vastu/Sthapatya – prefer Discoverer, Creator, Innovator (eastern side, earlier built, better light). For Feng Shui – prefer a mid-floor with view to open park not facing direct road Sha. For Bau-Biologie – prefer floor with operable windows away from roof-mounted telecom arrays.

Dagduseth Ganpati Pune
Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, Pune – iconography and Jyotish significance is very specific.
1. Iconography of the Dagdusheth Murti
The original temple was built in 1893 by Dagdusheth Gadve, a famous sweet-maker, after he lost his son to the plague epidemic. The murti we see today is the 3rd iteration, but it keeps the same form.
Physical form:
- Size and style: Unlike Mumbai’s tall Sarvajanik idols, this idol is noted for elegant and detailed facial features rather than just size. It is about 7.5 feet tall and 4 feet wide, other records say 2 metres tall.
- Posture: Seated in a royal, benevolent Lalitasana. The face has a beautiful and benevolent aura.
- Alankara: This is the most jewel-studded Ganpati in Maharashtra. Adorned with nearly 40 kg of gold / 8 kilos of gold in daily worship, with a 9.5 kg gold crown as center piece. There are seven changeable crowns for every day of the week, plus Shunda Bhushan – ornament for the trunk, and Angarkha.
- Guards: At the entrance are Jai and Vijay, two sentinels made of marble.
Symbolic Iconography – what each part means in Vedic thought:
- Big Head / Wide Forehead: Buddhi, wisdom. Represents Brihaspati tatva.
- Small Eyes: One-pointed concentration, ability to see beyond illusion – important for Rahu-Ketu remedies.
- Large Ears / Big Ear: The ability to listen to all prayers – “tiny ganesha, miniatures” description also notes big ear as distinct.
- Trunk curving left: In Dagdusheth form, the trunk curves towards the left (Vamamukhi), signifying Grihastha-friendly, calm, blessing householders, not the strict right-curved form which needs rigid rituals.
- Modak in hand & big belly: Contentment and ability to digest both good and bad experiences in life.
- Mushak Vahana at feet: Desire under control. Ganesha rides over desires.
2. Astrological Significance
In Vedic Astrology, Ganesha is not just Mangal Murti, he is the Graha Shanti Devta for two key planets:
a) Lord of Ketu:
Ketu is the shadow planet that governs spirituality, detachment, moksha, and sudden losses. A weak Ketu causes confusion, lack of direction. “Ketu – Lord Ganesha” is the direct deity mapping. Worshipping Lord Ganesha on a regular basis is believed to ward off the evil effects of Ketu. Only Lord Ganesha can help solve problems during Ketu Mahadasha.
b) Lord of Budh / Mercury:
Astrologically, the planet Mercury or Budh is associated with Shri Ganesha. Budh is intellect, speech, business, calculation, communication. Worshipping Ganesha on Wednesday is considered the most effective way to get rid of Budh Dosh.
c) Remedy for Rahu-Ketu Dosha & Kaal Sarp:
Rahu and Ketu are considered shadow planets, factors of confusion, delay and mental instability. It is believed that worship of Ganesha calms adverse effects of Rahu-Ketu and brings concentration and balance. “Lord Ganesha governs intellect, wisdom, and the ability to discern reality from illusion — the very areas that Rahu and Ketu tend to cloud”.This is why almost all Janma Kundali have Ganesha image at the top – for inauguration and removal of disturbance.
Why Dagdusheth form is especially potent astrologically:
- Gold = Brihaspati: 40 kg gold alankara strongly invokes Jupiter’s blessings – wealth, expansion, and santan sukha. The original vow was made after putra-shok, so childless couples and those with 5th house affliction especially pray here.
- Vighnaharta for Budhvar Peth: The temple is in Budhvar Peth, the Mercury zone of old Pune. Vedic sthapatya believes worshipping Ganesha in his Budh kshetra on Wednesday gives double Budh shanti.
- Darshan as Buddhi Shuddhi: Since Budh + Ketu both represent Lord Ganesha, during Ganesha festivals their combined transit is considered highly beneficial to get blessings by performing puja rituals.
Simple astrological remedies linked to this form:
- For Ketu Mahadasha / Ketu in 1st, 8th, 12th: Chant Ganapati Atharvashirsha, offer durva grass and modak, mantra “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah”.
- For Budh Dosh / Weak Mercury: Worship on Wednesday, offer 21 durva, chant Beej Mantra “Om Bram Brim Braun Sah Budhay Namah” after Ganesha puja.
- For Rahu-Ketu dosha: “Om Stram Streem Stroum Sah Ketave Namah” with Ganesha worship.
If you keep a small replica at home, face it North-East (Ishan) and keep the trunk to your left side as in Dagdusheth, it is considered best for Budh and Ketu pacification.

Yewale Chai
Analysis for Brand Name: YEWALE CHAI
This is a very strong name from both astrology and numerology perspective for a tea business. Here is the detailed breakdown:
1. Numerology Analysis
A) Chaldean Numerology – Most used for business names:
Y(1) + E(5) + W(6) + A(1) + L(3) + E(5) + C(3) + H(5) + A(1) + I(1) = 31 = 4
- Total Number: 31 / 4 – In Chaldean, 31 is considered one of the luckiest numbers. It is called “The Communicator & The Magician”. It denotes intelligence, public speaking, media, creativity, and quick success through communication. Very good for F&B and hospitality brands that depend on word-of-mouth.
- The compound reduces to 4 (Rahu) – Rahu is the planet of masses, sudden growth, foreign connections, and unconventional success. Tea is a mass product, so 4 is excellent for scale, chain outlets, and pan-India / global recognition. Brands on 4 often become a trend.
B) Pythagorean Numerology:
YEWALE = 7+5+5+1+3+5 = 26 = 8
CHAI = 3+8+1+9 = 21 = 3
Total YEWALE CHAI = 47 = 11 = 2
- YEWALE (8): 8 is Saturn – number of business, discipline, legacy, hard work, and long-term empire. Perfect for a family business that runs for generations. It gives authority and trust.
- CHAI (3): 3 is Jupiter + Saraswati – happiness, taste, expansion, and youthfulness.
- Combined 47/11/2: 47 is a very practical business number. 11 is a Master Number – “The Brand that Inspires”. 2 is Moon – Moon represents liquid, milk, water, mind, and public. Since tea is a Moon-related product (liquid), Number 2 is highly favorable. It makes customers feel emotional connection and calm.
Conclusion: You have a beautiful combination of Saturn (8 – Business Empire) + Moon (2 – Product & Public) + Jupiter (3 – Growth).
2. Vedic Astrology / Naam Akshar Analysis
First Letter: Y – ‘Ya’ Akshar
As per Vedic Naam Shastra, names starting with Ya / Ye / Yai come under:
Rashi: Vrishchika (Scorpio) – Lord: Mars
Nakshatra: Jyeshtha influence.
- For Business: Scorpio is a fixed, intense, loyal rashi. Customers become loyal and addicted to the taste. Mars gives energy, early morning activity – perfect for a chai brand where people come early morning.
- Element: Tea itself is a combination of Shani (Saturn – black tea leaves, service to masses) + Chandra (Moon – milk, water, mind-soothing) + Mangal (Mars – heat, boiling). Your name starting with Mars energy supports the core product element.
Second Word: CHAI – The word “Chai” has the sound of “Cha” which is auspicious in Vedic astrology, related to Chara (movement), meaning quick movement of customers and cash flow.
3. Brand Personality as per Name
Strengths:
- Mass Appeal: Both 31/4 and Moon number 2 ensure it connects from auto driver to CEO. Which is exactly what Yewale has done in Pune.
- Memory & Mouth: 31 is highly memorable, easy to say in Marathi, Hindi and English.
- Legacy Yog: The name has a strong Saturn influence (8 and 4 both Saturn/Rahu family), which creates long-term stability, not just a fad.
Watch-outs:
- Number 4 / 8 combination can bring sudden ups and downs and competition / copycats (which Yewale has faced a lot). It needs strong legal trademark protection.
- Saturn numbers need strict discipline in quality and staff management. If quality drops, Saturn gives quick punishment.
- 2 (Moon) makes the brand sensitive to public reviews and emotions.
4. Remedies & Suggestions to Make it Stronger
You are already using YEWALE AMRUTTULYA in many places, which totals to Chaldean 42 = 6 (Venus) – Venus is luxury, taste, and money. That is even better for food business. So keep “Amruttulya” as main.
- For Logo: Since your number is 4 (Rahu) and 2 (Moon), use Moon colors – white, silver, cream with a touch of deep maroon/red (Mars). Avoid too much black.
- For Growth: Adding a small tagline with Number 5 or 6 helps balance Saturn’s heaviness. e.g., “Yewale Chai – Chavicha Amrut Anubhav” – adds mercury energy for better marketing.
- Direction: As per name’s Mars/Moon energy, North-West (Vayavya) is best for new outlets for faster growth.

Manyata Embassy Business Park, Nagavara – Bengaluru A Vastu Study
110 acre SEZ + Non-SEZ campus on Outer Ring Road, Hebbal – North Bengaluru hub. Location: 13.05N, 77.62E. One of largest operational parks in India, 7-9.8M sq ft operational. Gates 1 to ORR, Gate 2 to Hebbal, Gate 5 back gate to Rachenahalli Ro This is an interpretive reading from public masterplan data, not an official certification by Embassy Group. Here’s how it reads across systems:
1. Vastu Shastra
Good points:
- Ishanya (NE) is strong: Nagavara Lake / Rachenahalli Lake sits NE of campus, exactly where Vastu wants water – promotes wealth flow.
- Main entry from South/South-East: Gate 1 on ORR is South-facing for the campus. South is Yama, good for large commercial/business that needs discipline and continuous activity.
- Slope: General terrain slopes towards East and NE towards the lake system – ideal slope towards north east is prescribed for commercial.
- Large open Brahmasthan: Central gardens, food courts, open spaces between blocks maintain central energy.
Watch points:
- Outer Ring Road is very high-speed on the South side – Vastu calls this Vedh Dosha. Needs buffering with thick green belt and high compound.
- Back Gate 5 to the North-East is kept low activity – correctly, you don’t want heavy logistics cutting NE.
- Remedy often used by tenants here: Main desk facing North or East, water feature in NE corner of office floor, heavy storage / server in SW.
2. Feng Shui – Form School & Flying Star
- Classic Armchair Form: Back support is Hebbal high ground to SW, Black Tortoise. Front Ming Tang (bright hall) is the open Nagavara valley to NE with lakes – excellent for accumulation of Qi.
- Water = Wealth: The two lakes act as Water Dragon in front. Outer Ring Road acts as a virtual water – fast-moving Qi. The park benefits because road curves around and buildings are set back, allowing Qi to slow and collect.
- Facing: Most towers like Beech, M3, Banyan are East or North-East facing, getting morning Yang Qi – best for tech offices.
For office: Avoid sitting with back to full glass facing ORR. Place reception in SW to catch Qi.
3. European Geomancy & Geodesy
- Geodesy: On Deccan Plateau, hard granite bedrock. Very stable, low seismic amplification. Lat 13.05N gives strong east-west solar path – buildings get even daylight.
- Geomancy: European geomancy would mark the central park avenue between blocks as a ley / energy line connecting the two lakes. The crossing near Block G1 is considered a power spot. This matches where Embassy puts most events and large art installations. EMF scan would show stress where ORR power corridors enter at Gate 1.
4. Tiang Seri / Malay Earth Spirit
Tiang Seri tradition respects big old trees as houses of spirits, must not be cut without ritual. Manyata retained many old Banyan, Beech, Silver Fir, Pine names – they actually named blocks after the trees they preserved. That is very aligned with Tiang Seri. The central large Banyan near L1 is treated as Penunggu – guardian of the site. Offerings / respect for that tree is key to site harmony.
5. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda (Vedic Architecture)
This system demands:
- Exact East orientation and square grid – Manyata is slightly rotated off cardinal to align with ORR, not perfect cardinal East, so not 100% Sthapatya-compliant.
- Brahmasthan empty: The campus largely respects this with no building in exact center – good.
- Building heights lower in East, taller in West/South: Mostly followed – taller blocks like M3 are on South-West side.
- Entrance in East: Would prefer main entrance due East. Here main is South, so Maharishi system would recommend using Gate 5 (NE/East) as spiritual entrance.
6. Bau-Biologie (German Building Biology)
- Positive: Large distances between towers = good daylight, cross-ventilation. Extensive landscaping = air ionisation buffer from ORR pollution. Modern low-VOC fitouts in Grade-A blocks.
- Negative: High EMF zone: Under the high-tension lines near Back Gate 5, mobile tower density, and 24/7 data center load. For sensitive occupants, measure ELF magnetic fields at ground floor near substations.
- Bau recommendation: Use shielded cabling, keep workstations 1.5m away from floor risers, add indoor plants (Areca, Snake plant) for VOC.
7. Mundane Astrology
Bengaluru’s foundation chart is often taken as 1537 (Kempe Gowda). North Bengaluru / Hebbal is ruled by Capricorn / Aquarius – Saturn-ruled, technology, large structures, discipline. Perfect for an IT SEZ. The park’s own SEZ notification was 2005-06 period – running Jupiter-Saturn cycle that supports long-term institutional growth. Outer Ring Road alignment corresponds to Shani Marg (Saturn road) – slow but enduring.
For a company: If your corporate chart has strong 10th/11th house, this location amplifies status.
8. Numerology
- Manyata Embassy Business Park =
Manyata (17=8) Embassy (20=2) Business (17=8) Park (10=1) = Total 19 = 1 Sun – leadership, headquarter energy. Very good for MNC anchor. - Address vibration: Nagavara 560045 = 5+6+0+0+4+5=20=2 Moon – good for people-centric, collaborative tech.
- 110 acres = 2 again – partnerships.
If your company number is 1, 2, 4, 6 it harmonizes well. If 8, you may feel over-work.

Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati Mumbai
Lalbaugcha Raja is not just a big idol, it is a specific Shastric form – and that’s why its design is actually patent-protected.
1. Iconography – Murti Shastra perspective
The basic form:
- Name: Navasacha Ganpati – the wish-fulfilling Ganesha. Navas means a vow taken.
- Height & Family: Normally 18-20 ft tall, sometimes 14 ft, made by Kambli family for 80+ years. Founded in 1934 by the Koli fisherfolk community of Putlabai Chawl after their market wish was fulfilled.
- Patent: The legendary design is patent-protected, so its form remains same every year.
Posture – Lalitasana:
The idol is seated on a majestic throne / Simhasana, not on a lotus. This is called Lalitasana – one leg folded on the throne, one leg touching the ground.
In Shastra it means: folded leg = spiritual elevation, meditation; foot touching earth = concern for worldly affairs of devotees, staying grounded in responsibilities. That is why it is described as serene, benevolent and loving form.
Attributes from crown to feet:
- Mukut: Tall, royal golden jeweled crown. He is depicted as Raja – King of Lalbaug.
- Face & Trunk: Vamamukhi trunk – turned towards left (towards modak, towards devotee). Large ears – Shurpakarna, to hear prayers.
- Vastra: Pitambar – yellow / maroon / purple dhoti with bright red sash. Changes every year with theme – Tirupati Balaji crown theme, palace theme etc.
- Ayudhas: In recent years shown with chakra in hands, otherwise classic – Pasha, Ankusha, Modak Patra, blessing hand.
- Throne Guardians: Flanked by majestic lions – Raj-simhasana, symbol of royalty and power to destroy obstacles.
- Vahana: Mushak – mouse at feet, gazing upward with folded hands. In Purana, Mushak was Krauncha Gandharva / Gajamukhasura cursed, made into carrier. Meaning: Desire (mus root = to steal) which steals spirituality – Ganesha controls it, not destroys it.
Over years, Lalbaugcha Raja has been dressed as avatars of Rama, Vishnu, Krishna, even Gandhi after independence, but current form is fixed as Raja on throne.
2. Astrology – Jyotish perspective
Ganesha = Ketu Adhipati:
In Vedic astrology, Lord Ganesha is directly linked to planet Ketu – the South Node, shadow planet. Ketu represents spiritual liberation, detachment, moksha, past-life karma.
Other forms: Dhumravarna Ganpati controls Rahu, Gajanana Ganpati signifies Ketu and mysterious setbacks.
Why Lalbaugcha Raja is sought for astrology:
- He is invoked as Vighnaharta – remover of obstacles created by malefic Rahu-Ketu dashas.
- People undergoing Rahu Mahadasha, Ketu Mahadasha, or with Kaal Sarp dosha worship him for shield.
- Ketu governs kidneys, reproductive organs, pregnancy issues – worship of Ganesha + Durga is prescribed as remedy.
- Auspicious day: Wednesday is Ganesha’s day, Tuesday and Navami tithi are special for Ketu worship.
Muhurta connection:
The idol is installed on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi – when Sun is in Leo and during this time Ketu’s transit is seen over Hasta Nakshatra (ruled by Moon) in Virgo. Sun + Ketu in Leo tests ego and power – Ganesha balances it.
In short: Iconographically he is a Raja-Yogi – king seated in Lalitasana to grant worldly wishes while keeping you spiritually grounded. Astrologically, he is the living remedy for Ketu – the planet that gives sudden breaks and spiritual lessons – hence crores see him as Navasacha, the one who fulfills the vow when other grahas block the path.

Whatsapp Logo An Astrological Analysis
PART 1 CORE FACTS: WhatsApp logo is a masterclass in “say less, mean more” branding. Here’s the full breakdown:
1. The Icon – What you see
Speech bubble + telephone handset inside it.
- Speech bubble = universal symbol for chat, conversation, dialogue. It’s slightly angled, with the tail pointing down – creates a sense of forward movement, like a message being sent.
- Phone handset = inverted, inside the bubble. It tells you instantly this isn’t just text – it’s voice and video calling too. The original idea was literal: “What” + “sApp” = WhatsApp. A phone inside a chat.
- Negative space: The phone is white cutout, not drawn. That makes it super legible at 16px as a favicon or notification dot
Why it works: Zero learning curve. Even a first-time smartphone user in 2009 understood it instantly, vs competitors like Telegram’s paper plane which is about speed, not conversation
2. Color Psychology
Icon: #25D366 green on white
- Green = trust, growth, harmony, positivity – critical for an app that asks for your entire contact list and private chats. It’s calming, not aggressive like red or corporate like blue
- It’s also unique in the dock. Facebook Messenger is blue, Telegram is light blue, iMessage is blue/grey. WhatsApp’s green pops out in a sea of blue apps on your home screen
- White for clarity and simplicity, makes the green feel clean, not loud.
Wordmark: #075E54 dark green/grey – more serious, business-like. The contrast is intentional.
3. Typography
When you see “WhatsApp” written below, it’s a custom rounded sans-serif. No serifs, soft rounded terminals that match the bubble’s curves. Slight weight, friendly but not childish. Since 2021, you see “from Meta” in Meta’s own sans under it – that ties it to Instagram / Facebook without changing the core mark
4. Evolution – Why it never changed drastically
- 2009 Original: Basic green bubble + phone. Functional, slightly 3D, glossy
- 2013 Redesign: Flattened, sharper phone icon, deeper green. Made for retina screens and Material Design era
- 2018 Refinement: Better contrast and gradient for dark/light mode, optimized for small sizes
- 2021 Meta era: Logo itself untouched, just added “from Meta” lockup. They kept equity.
Core design has remained same to keep strong, consistent identity – This is intentional. In messaging, consistency = trust. If your chat app changes its face too much, you feel insecure.
5. Strategic Analysis
Strengths:
- Instantly scalable: Works at 16px favicon to billboard
- Minimalist & timeless: Follows modern minimalist trends without chasing them
- Function > Form: Tells what the app does, not an abstract concept
- Emotional safety: Green + rounded bubble feels friendly, not techy
Weaknesses / Risks:
- A bit dated vs new gradient / animated logos. Could move to adaptive logos that change for light/dark mode or subtle animation on open
- The phone icon is less relevant now – people think WhatsApp is primarily chat, not phone calls. The handset feels slightly legacy.
- Hard to own green alone – many fintech/green brands use same shade.
What you can learn for your own logo:
If you are using WhatsApp for business, don’t alter the green or stretch the bubble. Use the official white-on-green badge for CTAs. Pair it with clean sans-serif text to keep that same trust + simplicity language.
Want me to do a side-by-side teardown of your business logo vs WhatsApp’s principles – like simplicity, color contrast, and small-size legibility?
Astrological logo analysis of WhatsApp – this is where branding meets graha energy. Here’s the esoteric read:
1. The Core Symbol – Speech Bubble
In astrology, shape is everything.
The Bubble is a circle with a tail. Circle = Moon / Mind (Manas). It’s the most sattvic shape – no sharp edges, no conflict. It holds, contains, protects your conversation like the Moon holds emotions. That’s why it feels safe and private.
The tail pointing down-left is Vayu Tattva – Air element. Air is communication, movement of thought. The message doesn’t stay trapped, it goes out to someone. Exactly what Mercury does.
The Phone inside is a crescent. It’s literally the symbol of the Moon – the receiver. In Vedic terms, this is listening before speaking. Shravan before Vachan.
2. Color – The Green
This is 100% Budha (Mercury) energy.
In Vedic astrology:
- Budha = Communication, commerce, buddhi, wit, messaging, youth. WhatsApp is the Budha of apps.
- Green is Budha’s color. It balances the nervous system, reduces anxiety around communication. That’s why you feel okay sharing sensitive things on WhatsApp vs a red app which would feel urgent or aggressive.
- White negative space is Moon + Venus – clarity, peace, friendliness.
The shade they use #25D366 is a medium, slightly warm green – not a harsh Saturnian dark green, not a light childish green. It’s a grown-up Mercury, trustworthy for business.
3. Numerology
WHATSAPP = 8 letters
8 is Shani (Saturn) – structure, discipline, long-term, mass organization. Perfect for an app that had to scale to 2 billion people and stay stable. Saturn gives longevity, which is why the logo has barely changed since 2009.
If you count the icon + text: 1 bubble + 1 phone = 2. 2 is Moon – again, mind, emotions, personal connection. It’s not a public broadcast tool like Twitter (Sun), it’s private, Moon-like.
4. Elemental Balance
- Air (Speech): Gemini/Mithuna ruled by Mercury – the app itself
- Water (Bubble shape, fluid conversation): Cancer – emotions, family groups
- Earth (Solid green, stable platform): Virgo/Kanya – also ruled by Mercury – service, daily utility
Notice what’s missing? Fire. No red, no triangles, no aggression. That’s why it never feels like an argument app. It is designed for continuation, not confrontation.
5. Why it works so well in India / Vastu angle
In Vastu, North-East (Ishaan) is for communication and knowledge, and its color is light green / Mercury. People keep their phone in that zone metaphorically all day.
The logo facing slightly right (bubble tail to left, opening to right) indicates future-facing communication – always moving forward. In astrology, right is solar, action-oriented.
The Graha Summary
WhatsApp is a Budha + Chandra yoga:
- Budha for the message
- Chandra for the emotion behind the message
It’s strong in Mithuna (Gemini – chatting, dual – you and me) and Kanya (Virgo – useful, everyday work tool).
If Mercury is weak in your chart, this kind of green, rounded, communication symbol is actually considered balancing to keep around – it’s why so many businesses put the WhatsApp green button on their website for Budha remedy for commerce.

Pune As Per Vastu
Pune is a very interesting city to read through all these systems at once, because its natural geography already follows the classic rules.
Here is the city as a mandala:
1. Vastu Shastra – Natural Vastu
In Vastu, a site is ideal when: West & South are high and heavy, East & North are low and open, water flows from SW to NE, and slope is towards North-East.
Pune fits this almost textbook:
- West / South-West High: The city is on the leeward side of the Sahyadri range. The continuous Katraj hills form the western-southern boundary, with Parvati – Taljai – Waghjai – Vetal – Chaturshringi range wrapping the city. Vetal Tekdi rises to 800m, acting as Nairitya heavy zone.
- East / North-East Open & Low: The east is relatively open with lone Yerawada and Dighi hills where grasslands dominate. The city slopes to the east towards the Deccan plateau.
- Water in North-East / Ishanya: Pune stands at the confluence of Mula and Mutha rivers, plus Pavana and Indrayani on the NW periphery. They flow Eastward to join the Bhima River. In Vastu, a confluence in the NE is highly auspicious – it is why it was called Punya-nagari.
- Brahmasthan: Old Pune – Shaniwar Wada, Kasba Peth – sits right at the center of this bowl, with the rivers forming a natural Parikrama.
Vastu verdict: A Kubera-pit – protected on Rakshasa side (SW), open to Ishwara side (NE) for knowledge and wealth. Good for education, IT, spirituality.
2. Feng Shui – Form School
Feng Shui calls this the Armchair Formation.
- Black Tortoise behind: Sahyadri in the West as support.
- Green Dragon left / White Tiger right: North hills (Baner-Pashan, Range Hills) and South hills (Parvati, Katraj) as embracing arms.
- Red Phoenix in front: The open eastern plains for future expansion and Ming Tang (bright hall).
- Water Dragon: Mula-Mutha winding in front carries Qi. The confluence point near Sangamwadi is a classic Qi accumulation point. The flow is East – which in 8 Mansions is the direction of Zhen, growth and family.
Feng Shui says cities facing East with mountain behind live long but grow slowly – exactly Pune’s history vs Mumbai.
3. Geomancy & Geodesy
- Geodesy: 18.52°N, 73.86°E, 560m above MSL on the eastern slope of Sahyadri. On the Deccan Traps – massive basalt, highly magnetic, high telluric conductivity.
- Geomancy: European geomancy would mark Pune as a confluence power spot. Rivers Mula-Mutha-Pavana-Indrayani meeting is a natural ley node. British surveyors called Pune a strategic central space because of this. Vetal Hill and Parvati Hill are visible geomantic beacons – used for centuries for temples for a reason.
4. Tiang Seri & Malay / SE Asian Geomancy
Tiang Seri looks for guardian trees (Penunggu) and undisturbed earth. Pune’s old name was Punawadi – forest of Punya. The city still holds huge old Banyans, Peepal, and Tamarind in Empress Garden, Peshwa Park, and on Tekdis. In this system, the Tekdis are not to be cut – they are the city’s Penunggu. Building too much on Vetal Tekdi is considered cutting the city’s guardian, which is why locals resist it.
5. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda
This Vedic architecture demands cardinal orientation and Brahmasthan.
- Pune old city grid (Peths) is almost perfect North-South, East-West – Shaniwar Wada facing North.
- The city respects Suryapatha: Main roads stretch East-West to get morning sun.
- Ideal Sthapatya city has water in East and mountains in West/South – Pune has it naturally. Maharishi would say Pune is naturally Sattvic because it is not in a coastal Rajasic churn like Mumbai, but inland, elevated, and surrounded.
6. Bau-Biologie (Building Biology)
German Bau-Biologie evaluates climate, radiation, materials.
- Climate: Pune is at 560m, leeward of Sahyadri, so it escapes heavy monsoon and coastal humidity – salubrious year-round. This is ideal bio-climatic design.
- Materials: Deccan basalt and laterite, low radon, good thermal mass. Traditional wadas with courtyard and basalt foundation are perfect Bau-Biologie examples.
- Challenge: Modern west Pune (Baner, Wakad) now sits in wind shadow with traffic pollution trapped by the bowl of hills – a classic Bau-Biologie warning about building in a basin without ventilation corridors.
7. Jyotish / Astrology
- Mythic: Pune is under Karka (Cancer) belt in some Maharashtra astrological maps – connected to the Moon, water, and mother. Confluence cities are always Moon-ruled.
- Foundational: Pune was granted as Jagir in 1599 to Maloji Bhosale. If we take 17th century resurgence as its modern horoscope, it gets a strong Dharma-Karma Adhipati Yoga – Mars (land) and Jupiter (knowledge) strong, hence cantonment + university + ashram city.
- Local astrologers call Pune a Brahmin city – dominated by Guru (Jupiter) energy, unlike Shani-dominated Mumbai or Mangal-dominated Nagpur.
8. Numerology
- PUNE: P(16) + U(3) + N(5) + E(5) = 29 = 2+9 = 11/2 Master Number. In Chaldean, 29 is highly karmic – trials but spiritual growth. 2 is Moon – again water, emotion, confluence.
- PUNE CITY: Comes to 7 – Ketu, introspection, research. Fits the city of universities, Osho, FTII.
- Pimpri nearby numerologically is a 9 – Mars, industry, energy, which matches Pimpri-Chinchwad MIDC.
Synthesis:
Across all systems Pune is read as the same thing: A bowl protected in the West and South, open and flowing to the East and North-East. Whether you call it Vastu, Feng Shui Armchair, or Form School, the prescription is identical – keep the Tekdis green, keep the North-East river zone clean and low-built, and let the city breathe eastward.
That’s why traditionally the most auspicious living zones were considered Kothrud (SW high but with Parvati protection), Koregaon Park (East open), and now Kharadi/Wagholi – literally following the water’s exit.
Pune has 15 PMC Ward Offices – that’s the official city mandala. Let me place each ward on all 8 systems for you:
The 15 Wards are: Nagar Road-Vadgaon Sheri, Dhole Patil Road, Yerawada-Kalas-Dhanori, Aundh-Baner, Shivaji Nagar-Ghole Road, Kothrud-Bavdhan, Warje-Karvenagar, Kasba-Vishrambaug Wada, Bhavani Peth, Bibvewadi, Hadapsar-Mundhwa, Dhankawadi-Sahakarnagar, Sinhagad Road, Wanowrie-Ramtekdi, Kondhwa-Yeolewadi
Ward-wise Energy Map
1. NORTH-EAST QUADRANT – Ishanya / Wealth & Knowledge Gate (Best in Vastu/Feng Shui)
This is where rivers leave the city – most auspicious.
Yerawada-Kalas-Dhanori + Nagar Road-Vadgaon Sheri + Dhole Patil Road
- Vastu: NE low, open, water zone. Mula-Mutha flows here. Perfect for growth. Yerawada was old jail area – shows Shani’s restrictive energy turning to reform.
- Feng Shui: Front Red Phoenix – wide open Ming Tang, river in front. Best for wealth. That’s why Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, Koregaon Park boomed.
- Bau-Biologie: Flat, good wind, but flood plain – needs raised plinth. High water table, watch damp.
- Sthapatya Veda: East-facing, receives first Brahma Muhurta sun.
- Astrology/Numerology: Numerology 7 – research, IT, airport. Ruled by Budha (Mercury) – commerce, communication.
2. NORTH-WEST – Vayavya / Movement
Aundh-Baner
- Vastu: NW – ruled by Vayu, movement, tech. Baner-Pashan hills give slight high in NW which controls wind, good for IT parks.
- Feng Shui: White Tiger side but balanced by hills. High tech Qi.
- Geomancy/Geodesy: On basalt ridge, good telluric line. Pashan = stone, very grounding.
- Tiang Seri: Pashan lake, Baner tekdi are guardian spots. Don’t build on tekdi top.
- Bau-Biologie: Best ventilation in Pune, hill breezes. Modern concrete heat trap is the issue.
- Astrology: Rahu zone – sudden growth, Hinjewadi IT corridor extension. Numerology 5 – fast changing.
3. CENTER – Brahmasthan / Heart
Shivaji Nagar-Ghole Road + Kasba-Vishrambaug Wada + Bhavani Peth
- Vastu: Brahmasthan of Pune. Kasba Peth is the original Punya. Shaniwar Wada is center. Ghole Road is old administrative heart. In Vastu, center must be open/light – which it was, but now congested.
- Feng Shui: Tai Chi point. All Qi converges here. If congested, whole city feels blocked.
- Maharishi Sthapatya: Original Peths are perfect N-S, E-W grid per Sthapatya.
- Geomancy: Highest human imprint – 300+ years of continuous habitation = strong ancestral memory line.
- Bau-Biologie: Old wadas were perfect – courtyard, thick basalt walls. New construction is heat-trapping.
- Astrology: Surya zone – power, government. Numerology 1 – leadership. But Bhavani Peth has Shukra/Mangal mix – old market, high density.
4. WEST / SOUTH-WEST – Nairitya / Heavy, Stable
Kothrud-Bavdhan + Warje-Karvenagar + Sinhagad Road
- Vastu: SW – heavy, high, stable. Katraj-Kothrud hills form Nairitya corner. Ideal for homes – Kothrud is called most liveable for this reason. Heavy = stability.
- Feng Shui: Black Tortoise support. Mountain behind = long life, stability. Bavdhan forest is tortoise shell.
- Geodesy: Highest elevation ~700-800m at Vetal and Bavdhan hills. Leeward protection from Sahyadri.
- Tiang Seri: Guardian is Vetal hill spirit, Parvati hill. Strongest Penunggu in city.
- Bau-Biologie: Best slope – SW high, NE low, natural drainage away. Slightly warmer in afternoon but protected from SW monsoon blast.
- Astrology: Ketu/Guru zone – spiritual, educational. Kothrud = Brahminical, stable, less fluctuating. Numerology 4 and 8 – Saturn, stability, real estate.
5. SOUTH / SOUTH-EAST – Agneya & Yama / Transformation
Bibvewadi + Dhankawadi-Sahakarnagar + Kondhwa-Yeolewadi + Wanowrie-Ramtekdi + Hadapsar-Mundhwa
- Vastu:
- Bibvewadi/Dhankawadi: South – Yama zone, good for mass housing, labor. South open to Katraj hills but flat inside – can trap heat.
- Kondhwa-Yeolewadi/Wanowrie: SE – Agneya, fire zone. Old cantonment, defence land. Fire = transformation, mixed communities. Prone to water issues as it’s in rain shadow of hills.
- Hadapsar-Mundhwa: East-South-East, fastest growing. Mundhwa-Manjari is where Mula-Mutha river finally goes east to Manjari. This is the exit gate – all waste and water goes out here, so in Vastu needs extra cleaning rituals.
- Feng Shui: Southeast is Wealth corner in 8 Mansions – Hadapsar-Mundhwa has become wealth factory (Magarpatta, Amanora) for same reason.
- Geodesy: Relatively open, grasslands dominate in east. Less basalt, more alluvial soil.
- Bau-Biologie: Lowest air movement, pollution traps. Hadapsar records highest AQI in winter due to bowl effect. Need east-facing ventilation.
- Astrology: Shani + Mangal – industrial, army, labour. Hadapsar is Shukra – luxury townships now. Numerology 6 and 3 – industry + growth.
