Life or ayush is a universal law for animate or inanimate objects. One may not understand how an inanimate die or deteriorate. The evaluation power of the universe enacts this drama .
Nature plays such a big role based on balancing energy levels to adjust mass balance . The human beings are so small that they are also subjected to their fate if energies are disproportionate. Any calamity brings imbalance in once living . Similarly some of the property whose life is more than 60 to 80 years also reach deterioration stage and the materials used in construction will be losing their internal strength which scientist call as loss of atomic bondage. As a result scales will be falling down from roof . Post holes are formed in the floors. The house gets weaken in the chemical process during that span of time (space & time). Negative energy easily invades the house and affects the progress levels in the occupants of such houses. The third generation in such houses faces problems because of disproportion of energy levels of good and bad due to several incidents. This is the reason our ancients used to perform agnihotra (fire rituals). Such old houses need prana pratista (renewal for its life energy) which is suggested at every twelfth ( pushkara ) year . All temples are adapting this process.
Further our seers have developed a process to estimate the life of the property as per its proportionate ratio of the land .The steps adopted by them are given here to calculate the life span of such properties before construction.

Dwajayam -1 , Dhumayam – 2 , Simhayam -3 , Sunakayam – 4 , Vrushabhayam -5 , Kharayam – 6 , Gajayam -7 , Kakayam -8 .
