Born In India : Travel / Settlement Abroad

by Anand Soni / Sunday, 30 August 2026 / Published in Career / Business / Wealth

Janma Bhumi energy with your Karma Bhumi energy.

Here is how each tradition approaches it:

1. Vastu Shastra – For Foreign Settlement

The core idea: make your current home support movement, west, and air element.

In your current home in India:

  • North-West is the key: This is Vayavya, the zone of movement, travel, foreign connections. Keep it light, open, and active. Sleep in the NW bedroom if you want to move, or keep your passport, visa papers, foreign currency, and offer letters in the NW cupboard.
  • North zone: Zone of opportunities and career. Keep it clutter-free, place a globe or world map in the north wall.
  • Main door: North or West facing doors are considered more supportive for foreign chances.
  • Bed direction: Sleep with head towards South or East. Avoid head towards North if you are actively trying to relocate, as traditional texts say it can anchor you.
  • Remedies for blockage: If NW is cut, has a toilet, or is heavy with storage, it is considered a major block. Use light colors – white, light grey – and keep it empty.

When you move abroad:

  • First house abroad should have entrance in North, North-East or West.
  • Avoid South-West entrance as your first rented place, it is seen as overly stabilizing and isolating for a newcomer.

2. Feng Shui – For Overseas Success

Feng Shui focuses on activating your Travel and Helpful People areas.

  • The Travel Corner: In the Bagua map, the North-West corner of your house or your bedroom is for Travel and Mentors. Keep it active with metallic colors – white, grey, silver – and place images of the country you want to go to, a globe, or pictures of planes.
  • Helpful People Luck: Place a small metal bowl with 6 coins in the NW to invite visas, sponsors, and mentors abroad.
  • North for Career: Keep the North wall clear. Use water element here – a small fountain image, or dark blue/black decor to support career abroad.
  • Unclutter: Feng Shui strongly says blocked energy at the front door stops foreign offers. Keep entrance bright and open.
  • Four Pillars perspective: People with strong Water and Metal in their chart are said to thrive in Western countries.

3. Western Geomancy, Geodesy and Bau-Biologie

These are European systems that look at earth energy.

  • Geomancy / Geodesy: Check the geopathic stress of your bed and desk. Sleeping over a water vein or Hartmann line is said to cause stagnation. If you have had repeated visa rejections or job loss abroad, practitioners recommend a dowsing check.
  • Bau-Biologie [Building Biology]: German system for healthy homes.
    • Choose homes abroad built with natural materials, good ventilation and natural light.
    • Avoid living directly under high-tension wires, near cell towers, or over underground train lines for your first 2 years. It affects sleep and decision making.
    • Use rounded shapes, wood, and clay – helps with homesickness.
    • Keep bedroom free of electronics, use hardwired internet where possible.

4. Tiang Seri – Malay Wood Lore

Tiang Seri is about living tree energy in timber and site selection.

  • If you build or buy wooden furniture for your new home abroad, traditionally Chengah, Meranti are preferred – stable energy for migrants.
  • Never bring wood from a sacred or cemetery tree into the house.
  • The main post / Seri of the house in Malaysia must face Mecca. Adapted abroad, keep your main support beam / dining table solid and uncut. It gives stability in a foreign land.
  • Keep a small living plant near entrance – it is your Seri replacement when you cannot plant the traditional tree.

5. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda

Very strict on orientation for success.

  • Ideal: House faces East with an extension towards East and North. Slope of land towards North-East.
  • Brahmasthan: The central area of the house must be open, light, not heavy, not a toilet. This keeps global connections open.
  • Facing: East entrance for clarity and growth, North for wealth, West for stability once settled. Avoid South entrance in a foreign country for the first house.
  • Vastu of the country: Maharishi system says northern hemisphere facing East gives early morning sun which supports foreign settlement.

6. Astrology – Vedic + Western

Common combinations traditionally linked with foreign settlement:

  • Vedic: 12th house – foreign land, 9th house – long travel, 7th house – residence away from birthplace, 4th house – home. Lords of 4th in 12th, 12th in 4th, or Rahu in 12th, 4th, 7th, 9th often noted. Dasha of Rahu, Ketu, 12th lord. Strong Saturn and Moon.
  • Remedies often suggested: These are faith-based, not guarantees.
    • Strengthen your 12th lord and 9th lord as per chart.
    • Worship of Varuna, or practices for Rahu/Ketu if advised by a trusted astrologer.
    • Keep your birthplace soil in a small silver box in NW when you travel initially.
  • Western: Sagittarius, 9th house and 12th house planets prominent. Jupiter transits over natal 4th or 12th often coincide with relocation.

7. Numerology

  • Universal numbers for foreign: 3, 5, 9 are considered numbers of movement, travel, global communication. 7 is often linked with research and settling far from birthplace.
  • Personal Year: Personal Year 5 and 9 are considered most supportive for international moves.
  • Name spelling: Some numerologists suggest adding the country code energy to your business name or email – e.g., total of your working name to 5 for travel, 6 for PR in foreign.
  • House number abroad: If you have choice, houses totaling 3, 5, 6 are often recommended for Indians settling in US/Europe/Canada/Australia.

A Practical Combined Checklist

  1. Now in India: Clean and lighten your North and North-West. Put your goal map, visas, and foreign contacts there. Sleep in NW for 45 days.
  2. Documents: Keep originals in North, not South-West. South-West makes them too heavy to move.
  3. When house hunting abroad: Choose East, North, or West facing. Central area open. Good sunlight, good ventilation, no major geopathic stress, away from heavy electromagnetic sources.
  4. First 90 days abroad: Face North or East while working. Keep NW active with mentors and networking. Avoid heavy storage in NW of your new apartment.
  5. Daily practice: All systems agree on this – early morning sunlight, grounding, and keeping the entrance clean brings helpful people.
